My name is Daksh Kaul, I am a Computer Science and Mathematics student at Rutgers University. I drawn to research in scientific fields such as computation and complexity theory, foundational quantum mechanics, and the applied mathematics of physical systems. I work at the boundary between rigorous theory and systems that ship; I am most at home where a problem resists easy categorization and demands both.
My research is grounded in first principles and a concern with underlying mechanism rather than surface behavior, carried out alongside faculty in the Rutgers Mathematics department, where I have contributed original analytical results within an emerging area of foundational quantum theory, work that rewards exactness and patience in equal measure.
As an engineer I am drawn to building complete systems and carrying them through to genuine use, an instinct borne out by open-source initiatives that have together reached 30,000+ readers, drawn $1,500+ in seed funding through NSF I-Corps, earned thousands of downloads, and put specialist engineering and analytical capability into the hands of hobbyists, independent builders, and individual operators who would otherwise sit outside it.
The work I value most tends to do two things at once: deepen a specialist understanding, whilst widening access to it.
